TitleLife Orientations (LIFO): An Applied Behavioral Science System
ShortDescriptionResearch has shown that individual strengths are shaped by one or more guiding principles. These principles provide an orientation to life and how we work with people. The LIFO is an assessment test which can be used to understand employee's life orientation, and help them leverage this.
LongDescriptionAbout 60% of the success of company-wide improvement efforts can be attributed to good interpersonal skills and teamwork. Yet most improvement training programs focus on technical skills and neglect those strategies and tactics that help employees work better together. Wouldn't it be great if there were a positive approach to building a more effective organization? An approach that leverages the unique strengths each person already has toward the good of the whole group? The LIFO helps organizations do this. By helping users understand their life orientation perspectives, the LIFO can be a powerful tool to promoting more effective interaction and teamwork. The LIFO workshops begin with a survey that is completed and scored by each individual. The survey identifies the individual's basic orientation to life, or personal style. Based on this foundation of self-knowledge, it develops and applies four strategies that enable individuals and groups to be more productive in their work, agreement, action, and communication.
